Yard Assistant / Appraiser

Location: Telford

Wilsons Auctions is the largest independently owned auction house in the UK & Ireland. We currently have a requirement in our Telford Branch (Postcode TF1 5YL) for a full time Yard Assistant / Appraiser with an immediate start date.

The successful candidate will be based at the above site and duties will include the following:

  • General Yard Duties
  • Vehicle Preparation
  • Site Hygiene
  • Errands including offsite locations
  • Manual Handling
  • Parking weekly vehicle sales
  • Assisting on car, commercial and plant auction preparations
  • Vehicle Photography
  • The use of Vehicle Marketing tools
  • Inspecting vehicles for auction
  • General yard duties when required
  • Dealing with customers
  • Moving and lifting of stock when required

The ideal candidate should have the following skills and attributes:

  • Good interpersonal skills
  • Good attention to detail
  • Able to work under own initiative
  • Hard working and reliable
  • A flexible attitude to working hours
  • Hold a full clean UK driving licence for three years or more
  • Be capable of multitasking and working under pressure in a fast-paced environment

Desirable criteria (not essential):

  • Experience in customer care
  • Forklift Truck Licence
  • Trained NAMA Vehicle Appraiser

Hours of work: Monday to Friday 9.00am – 5.30pm with a 30 min lunch break.
